Add a Org-mode specific toolbar which looks like a LibreOffice toolbar.
What I mean is this:
When I am editing this message in message-mode, a message-mode specific
toolbar is shown (See attached screenshot).
But when I am editing an Org-mode buffer, I get a bare minimal toolbar.
So someone can cookup an Orgmode specific toolbar that gives a quick
visual feedback on what the Orgmode can do. (See attached screenshot
for LibreOffice toolbar).
Specifically
1. Fontname
2. Fontsize
3. Text stlyes - Bold, Italic etc
4. Numbering On/Off. Bullets.
5. Increase, Decrease Indent
6. A "stylist" that examplifies, src-ifies, centrify a block of text.
7. Justification
8. An Icon for Exporting to HTML, ODT or PDF
1, 2 falls squarely within Emacs domain and applies to any text mode
buffer. (Use local variables to persist the fontname and size)
7 is not handled by Org-mode but falls within the domain of enriched
mode or facemenu.
----------------------------------------------------------------
It would be wonderful if we have mode-specific window configuration. (I
am not a multi-window or multi-frame user.)
Here:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2012-12/pngDhKMlKY65v.png
one can see the Navigator pane on the left and Stylist pane on the
right. If one could pre-configure such windows for the existing users,
one can easily traverse the document or "apply" quote, example, src
styles to a block of text by simply highlighting a region and a clicking
on a style.
(I see navigator pane as a "docked" speedbar.)
Speaking of which, docking of speedbar and multiple speedbar are other
features that could be useful to have.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of visual icons, I wish the modeline or the various isearch
controls be shown as little visual icons - It will give quick feedback
and save lots of screen estate.
