I agree. I haven't reviewed Paul's patches. For instance, I don't know
how hard it will be to override specific commit messages, or to amend
them. And we need server-side hooks to prevent badly formatted commit
messages.

But those are technological problems we can overcome, so I'm not worried
about them.
