This is not what I see.  The generated regexp for “u” is:

\(?:u[̀-̄̆̈-̨̛̣̤̭̰̌̏̑]\|[uù-üũūŭůűųưǔȕȗᵘᵤṳṵṷụủ⒰ⓤu𝐮𝑢𝒖𝓊𝓾𝔲𝕦𝖚𝗎𝘂𝘶𝙪𝚞]\)

that doesn't match “ue”.
