That's just plain wrong. Please don't do that.
The only options that make any sense are:

1) do nothing (which is what I would do)

2) forbid generated-autoload-file to ever point to a versioned file.
That means changing all these files:

lisp/dired.el

lisp/ps-print.el
lisp/textmodes/reftex.el

to load foo-loadefs.el (which in many cases will be tiny files).
