[Enigma-devel] CVS update and mouse controls

First of all, happy new year!

Ok, to the point :-) I've recently many complaints about Enigma's
current mouse controls.  It's quite tricky to get those right -- it
really comes down to fine tuning several parameters that affect the
motions of the mouse, like the mouse sensitivity and the friction of the
floor.  It also depends on the underlying operating system.   In short,
it's a mess.

I would like to solve this problem once and for all.  In principle, it's
simply a matter of exposing lots of parameters to the user, but I would
like to find reasonable default values.  Here is how you can help:

1) Download the current CVS version. During the game you can change the
following parameters:

        - Mouse speed (arrow left/right)
        - Mouse damping (arrow up/down)
        - Friction (page up/down)

2) Play with different settings for those parameters.  The old defaults
were
        
        Mouse speed     : 4
        Mouse damping   : 40
        Friction        : 1.7

You get closer to the original "Oxyd" behaviour with the following
settings (new default)

        Mouse speed     : 3
        Mouse damping   : 25
        Friction        : 2.5

3) If you find the settings that work perfectly for you, please tell me
(a) the values you used, and (b) your operating system.

4) If you do not find perfect settings, also tell me! What's still
wrong/missing?
