Thank you -- these look like very good suggestions.  I didn't know that
Jack and been ported to OS X, that's swell (!).  I'll probably play around
with this stuff later today.

No, though I suppose that's a good idea -- though a good bit of the
difference was in command-line options, not code... maybe I can rewrite
the config file to get rid of the command-line options.  Also, its really
Josh's change, not mine - but I'd be happy to try to upload it; I could
certainly use the practice.
