   I did get fluidsynth to initialize with:

pcm.fluid_cnv {
  type plug
  slave {
    pcm "hw:2,0"
    rate 48000
  }
}

   Haven't even listened to it yet...
   Thanks again and I may owe you a beverage at the Walnut or other location.
