Hello,

In the latest batch of additions I added the needed one-, three-, five-
and seven-eights vulgar fractions along with numerous glyphs in the Latin
Extended-B and IPA Extensions to the FreeMono and FreeMonoOblique fonts,
which makes them MES-1 (Multilingual European Subset, see for instance
http://www.kostis.net/charsets/iso10646.mes-1.htm) compliant. The number
of characters in either font actually vastly exceeds the required 355
characters, being 1489 and 1016, but we are still almost 300 characters
away from MES-2 compliance. The good side is that the bulk of the missing
characters is represented by the polytonic Greek characters, which can be
composed automatically once the required Greek accents are available.

Most of newly created glyphs should still be considered work in
progress, and indeed are many of them still drawn using overlapping
outlines, as I expect some more fine-tuning might be needed.

As you might have noticed, I have lately focused my work onto the FreeMono
family. There are three principal reasons for that. First, very little was
actually being done on monospaced fonts (as compared to Times-lookalikes).
Second, as FreeMono uses uniform stroke, it is easy to draw quickly at
least some rough approximation of a glyph. And third - I wanted some
monospaced fonts to use with the Yudit <http://www.yudit.com/> editor. :)

With kind regards, Primoz
