Have you managed to reproduce the error condition ? I tried printing the 
document with the overlapped glyphs under OpenOffice.org 1.0 and it printed 
out OK. There were no errors on paper.

Next I tried all 3 Free* fonts under Windows 98SE. They all worked in Wordpad 
and all had visible samples.

In WindowsXP however only FreeMono works. FreeSans and FreeSerif don't display 
samples (if you open a font file within the "Control Panel" > "Fonts" 
directory). Applications in XP are unable to use these two fonts.
At first one of the two fonts actualy worked but after a reboot they both 
failed to display.
