Sorry, I should have mentioned that I was viewing this with FontLab Studio; it
must be a bug in the refer handling there, I think.  When I view it with
FontForge the character appears as expected, and when I select the installed
font and enter the character in TextEdit it also appears as expected.

It's only in FontLab Studio that the character is not visible in the font
overview grid.
