Sorry to burden the list with this continued saga of getting all of this
stuff to work...I am using Mandrake 8.2. I successfully got Fox 1.0.11
installed (w/devel). I successfully got FXScintilla installed via
Laurent's RPM. I...of course...have ruby installed (built from
CVS...1.7.2). When I try and require 'fox' I get:

irb(main):001:0> require 'fox'
LoadError: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0: shared object not open -
/usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.7/i686-linux/fox.so
  from (irb):1:in 'require'
  from (irb):1

Thoughts?

Does /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0 point to the the real libcrypto? (libcrypto.so.0.9.6 on my MDK 8.2). If not then it means that you should probably install the openssl library in your machine. The 2 RPMs are:

libopenssl0-0.9.6c-2mdk
libopenssl0-devel-0.9.6c-2mdk

BTW: The one funky thing I had to do to install fox was find
libstdc++.so.4 which I got by installing an RPM
libstdc++3.1-devel-3.1.100.7mdk.i586.rpm which was build for
cooker...everything DOES seem to work though.

How strange.... I have the stock MDK 8.2 libstdc++3.0-3.0.4-2mdk
RPM installed on my machine and I don;t have this kind of problem. As a side note I strongly recommend not to use cooker package on a regular MDK distro unless you must absolutely do so.

Let me know if you still have problems

Laurent
