True, but MyBB is far more powerful than phpBB, and yes, the license
may not be like phpBB's, but it lets you download freely, modify it
fully, do what you like with it basicly (as long as you dont take it
apart compleltly, use individual parts of the code on another script,
or pack the mybb installation and offer available for download, none
of which you would do?). Not only that but MyBB has a far better
theming system than phpBB, which means I'll be able to make many
themes for the forums, easily. It also has a much better admin control
panel with many more features than phpBB (for eg, making a forum link
somewhere (bug reports to savannah bug tracker for example)) , and the
security is far better than phpBB, with updates usually released 24
hours after a new one is found (which is less since they had a bug
hunting extravaganza not too long ago.
