I agree, but as you probably know there are several types of colorblindness. I
doubt that we can address all the variants and still have a nice color. These
numbers are only temporary, displayed on demand. I do not think that they
render the game too ungly.
That said, I have nothing in principle against color palettes for players, as
there already are several color very near in the current hue-ish system.
However, it is not clear to me whether applying saturation or brightness
change to colored part of sprite would result in nice graphics. Maybe someone
can test using a image processing software. If we are happy with the result,
applying the change to the code is trivial.
