GSM Cell info

Heya,

I was looking at whether gnokii could provide info allowing me to use:
http://gsmloc.org/code/
to determine a location.

But it seems that I can't get any useful network information with my
device:
Network      : unknown (unknown)
Network code : undefined
LAC          : 0000
Cell id      : 0000

gnokii doesn't seem to be using AT+CREG? which from my docs would be the
way to get the LAC and CID. The network code doesn't seem to appear in
the output of AT+COPS? though:
write: [AT+COPS?<cr>]
read : [AT+COPS?<cr><cr><lf>+COPS: 0,0,"vodafone UK",0 
<cr><lf><cr><lf>OK<cr><lf>]

Any ideas?
