Also many systems (e.g., sunos) have a standard utility called `arch', which
could cause lots o' confusion.

I think the current split is fairly reasonable -- I tend to use `arch' when
talking about things I _believe_ to be pretty implementation-independent
(like the archive format), and `tla' when talking about stuff that might be
different in other implementations (like the specifics of command-line
syntax).

[That's why I called my package of add-on scripts `tla-tools' instead of
e.g. `arch-tools': they probably wouldn't work with another arch
implementation because the details of the CLI would be different.]
