For Rhythmbox, I have several branches like:

rhythmbox--main--0.8
rhythmbox--main--0.9

There is also a --releases branch with versions that point directly in
there:

rhythmbox--releases--0.8.0 -> rhythmbox--main--0.8--patch-8
rhythmbox--releases--0.8.1 -> rhythmbox--main--0.8--patch-14
rhythmbox--releases--0.8.2 -> rhythmbox--main--0.8--patch-30

etc.
