IIRC it was for sorting. Or maybe just to get sorting in line with what
humans expect? I mean, if there's letters in the version number, tla
would need to use the collating order of the current locale to do the
sorting a way the current user expects, which is kinda... well.. odd.
Especially since then executing
  tla get project--branch #note: no version, tla selects latest
might produce different results on different locales.
