RFC 2046 multipart/parallel with all parts having Content-Type
application/octet-stream and where necessary Content-Transfer-Encoding
base64 will serialize this just fine.  With judicious choice of
boundary markers need not be offensively unreadable, and with careful
choice of media type for subparts, this could be a very convenient
format.

Eg, if you are careful, you could use text/plain as the media type for
most diffs and logs, and most mailreaders will just DTRT with it.

I'm not necessarily arguing for this in general, but people with MUAs
based on Emacs should see the possibilities immediately.
