Ok, so that's three paragraphs:

   a) one true answer (or else...)

   b) defer until a "happy coincidence"

   c) make sure that your algorithm for (b) terminates and
      place your own best bet on how to implement that algorithm


Isn't that, like, "A*"-search, or something?
