Well, I still consider myself a relative newbie, and by the sound of it,
I really must be - in a month of using tla daily, I haven't once used
archive-mirror.

Perhaps I need to go do some reading.

However, what I would suggest, is that unless it's needed as a standard
part of working on public ("open") projects, the newbie doesn't need it.
I'm working on an internal/ proprietary project though, so I can't
comment further on that.

I didn't realise that the other merge commands were used much -
I haven't read about them, and couldn't even name them without
going to the help.

Again, caveat per my 1 month experience as above.
