Bazaar 1.2 has been released.

The release includes:
* Aaron Bentleys backbuilder, which creates reference trees via both forward
and reverse patching.
* Many UI changes
* Build fixes for Solaris
* Doxygen library documentation
* Support for controlling *.orig files via arch.
* Per file conflict resolution tracking.
* All tla 1.3 changes, and most of tla 1.4.
* The debian build produces a -dbg package to ease problem reporting.
* new log, export commands.
* Manpage created from baz help output (from Hans Niedermann).

Bugfixes:
* Apply-delta -t was broken
* Arch cache & merge performance tuning.
* revision library inode signatures were checked too often.
* during update, when we know the state of the tree matches a revision, snap an
inode signature.
* The cache was mis-handling missing cache paths.
* Cached deltas will not be used when performing archive mirroring.
* merge would occasionally panic due to not handling inaccessible archives
correctly.
* when offline, failing sftp connections could race and have the process killed
via SIGPIPE.

Where to get Bazaar ?
The Bazaar homepage at http://bazaar.canonical.com/ lists binary and source
locations for bazaar.

Key user visible changes:
========================
* new 'log' command, follows ancestry to give you a complete linear log of
commits.
* new 'export' command, allows you to export a branch or revision without its
Arch metadata.
* import now takes a --automatic parameter. When supplied import will convert a
directory
  on disk to an arch project tree, and import it into an archive.

Community patches:
=================
Baz incorporates many patches for the tla codebase that it is based on
from the community. Thank you to the coders of those patches ...

Matthw Dempsky
Matthew Hannigan
Hans Niedermann

Annotate:
========
Annotate functionality was planned for this release, but for various reasons
missed the
release. However, the code is working in a somewhat rough form,
address@hidden/bazaar--annotate--1.2 located at
http://people.ubuntu.com/~robertc/address@hidden contains
the working code, which will be merged into the baz 1.3 branch shortly.

Documentation:
=============
New documentation for baz 1.2 will be available shortly - stay tuned.
