There was an article on /. last week, about the broken compiler suite
on darwin. I think they were hoping to get darwin problems fixed
somewhere early during gcc-3.0 (that's now-ish).
I've looked around at the apple site, but downloading latest source
seems to require registration (correct me if I'm wrong). Your best
bet is to monitor gcc/darwin development, and run LilyPond on
GNU/Linux (ppc) in the meantime. Maybe you can register and try
latest cvs.

Ok, yes of course, it's a compiler/linker problem.
