Hi,

now that I have my basic form running, I need to continue with the
next step of my application. I need an other form that displays some
of the fields of the first one, but this time as a grid table with
some extra functionality. I need a way of select some of the records
displayed and a filter/search mask.

The search mask is located on the first line and looks mainly as a
grid row. I defined a block for the entry controls, which is not
bounded to a datasource. My hope was that defining a Pre-FocusIn and a
Pre-FocusOut trigger on the search block which executes a
form.enterQuery() and a form.executeQuery() acordingly, I would get
the results shown on the grid, for which I defined another block
bounded to the database. But of course this didn't work. Can anybody
give me a hint on how to do this?

The other question is about the selection of some of the records of
the grid. I put a checkbox next to the gridrow. How can I do something
usefull with the selected records, for example write them out as a
csv-file or execute an external program with the coresponding
arguments for each record?

Regards

Andreas
