This would have the added benefit of allowing GUI-less
users to make effective use of other GTP engines, without
those engine authors having to write an ASCII interface.
this is good idea but for one problem (that i'm aware of,
there maybe others): at the end of the game, there is a phase
where dead groups must be agreed upon. unfortunately, GTP
does not support toggling the state (dead or live) of a group.
see lament in gnugo.el func `gnugo-toggle-dead-group'. a
separated ascii interface would find itself in the same boat,
as would any other GTP client.
