Mounted vertically or horizontally? All my antennas (except two) are mounted
horizontally, indoors, and I'm not aware of signal loss. I do try to use the
maximum number of constellations possible - usually GPS/GLONASS but the more
modern GPS/GALILEO/GLONASS.
I do have one rather old unit which has shown PPS loss but that's well away
from a window and has no proper ground plane.
I find that near a wall is better than near double-glazed windows.
