I would sometimes like to launch an Emacs session inside an xterm (from the Cygwin distro) with the following command (at a bash prompt): $ emacs -nw -q someFile but get the error message "emacs: standard input is not a tty." My $TERM variable is set to "xterm" and $CYGWIN is set to "tty notitle glob". Any suggestions? Thanks. Sarir
