hi,well don't give too much attention to the errors i've described, it seems my debian install is not so good. The configure script fails to detect that perl can be embeded. I'm not sure why and i don't know if that kind of external perl use introduces problems afterwards..
Anyways if anyone has an idea on how to solve the Debian/embeded perl issue please let me know..
I would also like to know if there's a limitation for the local picture path length that can be stored/used by gift.. Indeed i went back to the debian GIFT package (0.1.13) to make some further tests and i saw a few errors on some pictures i was trying to add to a collection. The errors had the mention "too long" with the local path being displayed. Unfortunately i didn't copy the exact error at the time and i haven't been able to reproduce it so far.. As soon as i get them again i'll post them here too..
But well i must say that my collection tree is quite extensive so it may produce errors if there's a limitation on picture paths..

Hi, Thanks for your observations. I will look into that. Try: gift-add-collection.pl --help.Cheers, Wolfgang
