trouble with edit-pr inside emacs

trouble with edit-pr inside emacs |

I can run edit-pr from the command line and use vi,
but when I try to invoke edit-pr from within emacs, it says:
Fetching PR 494 in background.
error in process sentinel: GNATS error: "npr-edit: adaptivesilicon: No
such host"
Does anyone know what this message means?
