Spam on the mailing lists

Some of you may be upset about the spam on the GNU GNATS mailing lists.
Please note that:

- We are not responsible for sending spam, so it's useless to get angry
on any of us here, the spammers are the right target for your rage.

- I'm not ignorant about the problem. There is a quite aggressive
filter installed on bug-gnats@ now, it catches about a dozen spams per
  day.

- If any spam passes through, I don't see it, it's filtered out by
various processors between the mail server and my screen.

- By unsubscribing from the GNATS mailing lists because of the spam you
won't help GNATS development nor spam fighting.

- If you encounter spam here, you may forward it to me and I'll try to
add another rule to the filter. But please don't do it everyone -- I
don't want to be, ehm, spammed by forwarded spam. It would be best,
if a single person could volunteer.

- I'm looking for a volunteer for spam discarding. My Internet
connection is relatively slow and expensive and the current Mailman
interface is a bit uncomfortable in discarding the caught spam. This
would probably be only a temporary job, since a future Mailman version
  will improve in this area.

Since spam is off-topic here, I suggest to discuss it in private instead
on the mailing list.

Thanks,

Milan Zamazal
