Problem connecting to gnatsd

Hello everybody from a gnats newbie,
I have a problem istalling / configuring gnats resp. gnatsweb. I have
found the exact question in a previous thread, but no solution was
given, although it has been found.

Trying 

make test USERNAME=gnats PASSWORD=gnats DATABASE=TestDB

I get as response:

connect...........................................pass 
query.............................................FAIL 
make: *** [test] Error 9 

Making some prints in the scriptfile gnatsweb.pl I found out that the
response from server_reply() is CODE_NO_PRS_MATCHED. This leads to the
abort.

Has anybody an idea what I have made wrong?
