[Info-cvs] Solaris Client -> Linux PServer

I have a cvs repository on a Linux RH6.0 server and have been using it
successfully for many months. We generally use it locally, however I
frequently access it from 3 other Linux machines using the :pserver: method
without a problem.

cvspserver stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd
/usr/bin/cvs -f --allow-root=/home/cvs pserver

We're now adding a Solaris 7 (sparc) box to our network and trying to get
cvs to access our Linux based repository. It doesn't work. I've tried using
a cvs package from SunFreeware and have now installed from source. "cvs
login" always fails with the same messages even though our $CVSROOT is
identical to what we use on our other remote Linux servers.

cvs login: authorization failed: server rejected access

I went so far as to compare tcpdump output's between a successful login from
linux to a failed login from solaris. At first I thought I had it when I
found that Solaris 7 doesn't come with identd and the tcpdump indicated that
it was using it. However, installing indentd didn't help.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would certainly appreciate it. I have a
$30k paperweight until I can get cvs working.
