Hi Tony,

I have successfully set up Koha 2.2.3 on an XP machine for a small seminary
library in Spain. I am currently on furlough in the Seattle area (most of
the time) for about 6 months and maybe I can give you a hand. Even though
the server is in Madrid, I can access it from here so I could check out some
configurations for you. Unfortunately, at the moment I am in Atlanta and
only have access to a dialup line so the GoToMyPC doesn't work too well from
here, but I will be back in Seattle on the 19th. We can at least get started
before then.

The OPAC search problem sounds familiar - if I remember correctly, there is
a bug in the search module that I was able to correct. Could you look in the
logs in your Apache program directory and send me the four or five lines
with the exact error?

How did you install your Koha system? Did you use the Windows Installer
package put together by Rob Weir? If so, I think there may still be a
"starter" MARC configuration SQL file included with that. I'll have to look
at our installation to find it. 

We should be able to get this up and running for you soon.

I've tried several installs of Koha2.2.3-W32 on a couple of new XP 
machines and always get the same problems. I'm doing some things right 
because I get both the opac and intranet screens, can add users, and it 
even claimed to parse a MARC upload.

<>The opac screen gives an error when I enter a search:

Server error, premature end of script headers opac-search.pl, error 500.

<>More seriously, perhaps, is the parameters setup. I can set most of 
the simple ones-branch, item types, borrower categories, and so on. 
However, I get no list of MARC fields and the screen of blank boxes 
won't let me add anything. <>MARC check then shows several errors that I 
find now way to fix. <>

Then, thinking I may need to set the system preferences, I do that 
(mostly ok, I think). After doing those, the Parameters screen comes up 
blank.

I suspect I am missing some major step or basic file to correct most of 
this and would be most grateful for any help or hints.
