I think that's reasonable. One could also pay users some interst for
their spair money (which I guess will cause some inflation over time).
If you don't get any interest by the system, you could instead try
speculating in memory, buying when it's cheap (say, 6:30 in the
morning when all the night's batch jobs are finished and most other
users are still asleep), and sell it to a higher price a few hours
later.

Exactly, I can imagine all sorts of interesting problems ;-)
