Actually, POSIX does not define the standard C library.
Actually, it does. See IEEE Std 1003.1-2004, XSH. It doesn't define
the syntax for the C language though.
Your challenge assumes that people think that Emacs is A Good
Thing(tm).
Emacs is one of the core bits of the GNU system, you are free not to
use Emacs.
