I was under the impression that Libtool's own libtool.m4 provides (or
should provide) the AC_PROG_LIBTOOL macro?

I couldn't find any other place where AC_PROG_LD and AC_PROG_NM are
provided and/or used than internally by Libtool.

Why is this necessary with the _head_ CVS branch?
(I mean, a Libtool version >=1.4 release seems very unlikely to happen
before new stable releases has been made from the head CVS branches of
Autoconf and Automake?)
