It'd be good to know which of the changes caused that.  It'd be even
easier to see if you ran `libtool --debug' before and after the bad
patch, and showed both (mail to me if too long).  If the shell resets
the `-x' flag for functions called, that's not going to be of help,
though.  (Maybe we should provide for that as well, at least for the few
large functions..)

I don't have access to Solaris, remember?  Also, I posted these patches
weeks ago and waited so that several people could get a chance to test
them.
