Yes, but I think a colon at the end of that last sentence would do the
job.
In contrast, consider the following example

To me, this looks awkward. I think a colon should probably be used
here too.
Note that a colon is not always the best option; it's just that the
particular examples you
gave would best be served by adding a colon.
