Hi,"regression test" is a technical term that is commonly used in the field of software engineering; see for example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regression_testThe emphasis lies here on testing across different revisions of a piece of software in order to ensure that bugs that previously have been fixed do not reoccur. Hence the word "regression".

Hi! Is there some reason for using term "regression tests"? There is a more accurate term "proofs" which is used in typography. If the latter term is preferred, I would cultivate it in several places in the Documentation.
