That makes me questioning: Has RG design issues?
Would it require any internal restructuring / cleanup?

In the notation side there are a lot of things which need restructuring and cleanup.
Both on the code design side and on the graphical design side.

Or is it "just" the few missing brains.... ?

Although I'm not keen on it, opening RG for the mac and windows world
could attract more developers...

At least, as a result of such a port there will be more users. Then they will complain
and we may have less bugs and more new ideas. I am not so sure whether we should
rely on the increasing number of developers, although it is very plausible course of matters.
But, maybe, somebody of the new users has some spare time to program for fun, as we do,
and they may fasten the progress...

Seems like we already do have some new developers as a result of the ongoing
QT4 port. When the QT4 port works, it should be released, and the next version
could have even less dependencies on tools which do not work in major OSs.
