I am seeing this too, and it is reproducible. Since it is an FP
during the install stage, I would suspect some kind of low-level
mismatch somewhere. Interestingly, if I run

address@hidden glibc-core-2.3]$ pwd
/home/lilydev/vc/gub3/target/linux-x86/build/glibc-core-2.3
address@hidden glibc-core-2.3]$ ls
ls: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by ls)
ls: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /lib/libselinux.so.1)
ls: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.8' not found (required by /lib/libselinux.so.1)
ls: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /lib/libcap.so.2)
ls: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.8' not found (required by /lib/libcap.so.2)
ls: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /lib/libacl.so.1)
ls: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /lib/libattr.so.1)

perhaps there is some library version mismatch going on somewhere?
