Can you dedicate a commit to documenting/commenting how the engraver
deals with beams?  I couldn't work out reading how the engraver deals
with (auto)beams, and more importantly,  I couldn't understand why
your fix solves all possible cyclic dependency issues of beams
depending on beams.

I suggest reducing the beam-beam collisions to the case that it is
designed to fix, namely grace beams: grace beams are added as
covered-grob, and grace beams themselves never receive a beam as
covered grob.
