Again, if it makes any difference -- remember that this is a release with only 6-month max lifecycle, and that non-LTS (long-term-support) Ubuntus tend to really be favoured only by the more tech-savvy users. Next release will be LTS and should have the fixed metapost.

So, this probably isn't quite as disastrous as it could be.

Ubuntu development releases tend to be pretty stable these days, especially in the buildup to LTS, so it's almost tempting to upgrade immediately anyway ... Hmm, maybe wait 'til Alpha 1 in December. :-P
