Or maybe it's best if I just push a new commit (to staging) that fixes the
error. I'll do that later today unless I hear otherwise.

I'd held off replying in the hope that someone better at this than me would
chip in. But if it was me (probably "was I" is grammatical), I'd push a
commit that corrects the problem, rather than pushing a revert and an
updated correct commit.
