Thanks for the question,
because if "$\\!$" gives a bit of negative space I'll be very glad I
looked it up in ``The Not So Short Introduction to \latex 2\epsilon''.
With math mode, "\!" should give you some negative space in text, and
that should be very handy for us if it works.
If you want to use it in the Lyrics of a score, I'm afraid this
won't work the way you expect it, since the spacing calculations
in Lilypond don't understand these more advanced aspects of LaTeX
and will get completely confused.
You can certainly use it in the title, though. Also, you could use
things such as \hspace{-3mm}.
