Problem with tied chords in TAB

In the following minimal tablature example, the repeated g in the chord, 
shows up in the tied chord.

Which g shows up depends on whether I retype the tied chord (bar 1), use the 
'q' symbol (bar 2), or use 'q' with \tabChordRepeats set (bar 3).
