As its author, I am obviously biased regarding its usefulness, but
I do want to note that the documentation in version 2.23 has a new
section explaining extra-spacing-width and extra-spacing-height as
well as other details (the documentation was added in 2.23 but the
methods themselves are applicable in earlier versions).
