Here's the example of using specified explicit lines from the NR:

  \column {
    \line { Act \number 1 }
    \line { \sans { Scene I. } }
    \line { \typewriter { Verona. An open place. } }
    \line { Enter \roman Valentine and Proteus. }
  }
}

Adding the box is am exercise for the reader. :-)
