In the "TeX world" (The TeXbook contains a nice example), the "hanging
hyphenation" means that the punctuation which occurs in the "middle of
line" remains exactly the same as without such effect (including
spacing, etc), but punctuation which occurs at the left or right line
boundary "hangs" to the margin.
