Follow-up Comment #1, bug #20409 (project lwip):

I think we should "renew" any DHCP or AUTOIP IP Address to respect some IP
mobility requirements...

But I'm not sure to understand: it seems that your "link" callback replace
the status_callback? Or I miss something? 

To have something "safe", I think your callback have to be called by a
tcpip_callback, or something like that, to avoid to use the core by multi
threads/context (IT by example).

Last, It would be good if the "link" callback called an "application-level"
callback like LWIP_NETIF_CALLBACK (to report that in any log by example)...
