Ok I have just tested it and it works:

1)this is the command I used:

pppd /dev/ttyS0 38400 debug nocrtscts local 192.168.0.3:192.168.0.4
nodetach

2)Had to set CYGOPT_IO_SERIAL_SUPPORT_NONBLOCKING  to 1
